Unknown clients, known threats--Real Estate Agents!

If you are wondering about the most dangerous jobs in the USA, you would go for go for police, truck drivers, or even industrial workers. But you would have never guessed that being a real estate agent is one of the most dangerous jobs in America. The job description says you have to show people around vacant properties. The issue lies therein, and most of the people would not even think about it. The clients are complete strangers, and you would know nothing about them, or what kind of person they are.

In the past there have been a number of incidents where real estate agents were assaulted or even killed by their clients. Most of the real estate agents don not have any prior training in self-defense, or do not keep anything for self-defense on their person. This makes them easy targets. What makes matters worse is the fact that the property they are showing is vacant. This means if the agent is assaulted inside the property there is a very little chance of other people finding out about it, or coming to help for that matter.

So if you are a real estate agent, the least you can do for your personal safety is to keep something you can defend yourself with. Pepper sprays are a great option as they can be easily concealed, and quite easy to use. They also have a decent range, so you would not have to be too close to your attacker to defend yourself. Another useful self-defense device is the stun gun. While the stun gun lacks the range of the pepper spray, they are capable of knocking out your attackers. But the best option is always the stun batons. They are portable enough to be carried around in handbags, and can be concealed under your suit as well. They have a medium range, but what them terrifying is that the fact that they have electrodes on the sides as well. So even if the attacker tries to snatch the baton away, they are in for a nasty shock.
